While there is much planned to commemorate the 150th anniversary of our Parish, our desire to to bracket the week with worship and thanksgiving.
The week will begin with a contemporary worship and praise evening on Tuesday 24 November at Nayland St Chapel, and conclude with a combined service on Sunday 29 November at Sumner School Hall (see below). Our aim is to focus our hearts and minds upon God as we gather to celebrate, reminisce, and look forward to the future.
As we mark this milestone, it is our earnest hope that our Parish will continue to be a visible and vibrant community, following faithfully in the way of Jesus for many years to come.
You are warmly invited to join us for both worship occasions!
Join us on Sunday 29 November at Sumner School Hall as we gather to round off our week of celebration in worship.
We are delighted that Bishop Peter, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Christchurch, will be joining us for this special occasion. The service will include the unveiling of a special commemorative item to mark the 150th anniversary of our Parish. There will also be baptisms and confirmations taking place within the service.
Following the service, everyone is welcome to stay for a semi-catered lunch on the school lawn (inside if wet) which will include a bouncy castle, ice cream, candy floss, and games for all ages. A photographic display charting the history of the Parish will also be available to view, offering a chance to look back with gratitude over 150 years of God’s faithfulness.
Every one is welcome to join us for this special occasion! We would love to have you join us.
